SYLVIA, a distinguished dispute resolution attorney and conveyancer, earned her LLB Law degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2014. With a wealth of experience, she has demonstrated her commitment to excellence throughout her dynamic career.

Professional Journey

Sylvia embarked on her legal career by serving her articles of clerkship at a reputable boutique law firm in Johannesburg from January 2014 to January 2016. She got admitted as an Attorney on 18 April 2016 and obtained her right of appearance in terms of Act 62 of 1995 on 3 June 2016. Sylvia's dedication and expertise saw her rise to the position of Associate at the same firm until June 2020. During this period (2014 to 2020) Sylvia gained in-depth experience in personal injury litigation and general trial preparation in both the lower and the superior South African courts. Subsequently, she joined another prestigious boutique law firm in Johannesburg as a Senior Associate, where she contributed significantly until June 2022. This is when Sylvia was granted an exposure to general dispute resolution for state owned companies and for private companies. In July 2022, Sylvia brought her extensive legal acumen to MBA Incorporated, where she currently serves as a Partner and team leader.

On 5 January 2023, Sylvia was appointed as a committee member for the Legal Practice Council's Gauteng Office. This was and continues to be a wonderful growth point for Sylvia and it has showcased her commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in the profession, to serve the public effectively and fairly. Recognizing her exceptional contributions to MBA Inc. and the legal fraternity at large, she earned a well-deserved promotion to Senior Associate in June 2023.

Sylvia has developed a keen interest in property law. To sharpen her skills in this regard, she wrote and passed the prescribed examinations for the conveyancing practice. She formally applied for admission as a Conveyancer in 2023 and was subsequently admitted as a Conveyancer on 23 January 2024.

Sylvia was promoted to Associate Partner on 12 November 2024 and promoted again to Partner and dispute resolution team leader on 14 April 2025.
